Radiology is one of the most valuable diagnostic tools in veterinary medicine. We offer this service in an effort to provide high quality imaging and diagnostic testing for your pet.  Radiographs (x-rays) provide us a look inside your pet’s body and reveal information that otherwise is not evident from an external perspective.  This technology is a painless, safe, and a non-invasive method that allows us to use a very low dose of radiation and evaluate internal organs as well as the skeletal system.

Radiology allows us to view the size, shape, and position of organs which is important because certain medical conditions- such as kidney, heart, or liver disease-may alter the size of these organs. In addition, an organ’s position and shape could be altered or distorted by an intestinal blockage or certain type of cancer. Many other conditions can also be diagnosed with the aid of radiology, such as certain types of cancer, arthritis, bladder stones, bone fractures, spinal column diseases and more.  If our healthcare team recommends that radiographs be taken of your pet, you can feel confident knowing that these images will help to provide the best care possible for your pet, by aiding in the diagnosis and treatment plan.
