• Wellness Exams- We recommend annual wellness exams in an effort to help maintain your pet’s current health. Pets of all ages benefit from these exams.  A typical wellness exam includes an assessment of your pet’s major organ systems.  Our team will also want to learn more about your pet’s behavior, eating habits, and level of activity.  Steps can also be taken to check for parasites, as well as other conditions.  Make sure to write down any questions you have and bring the list with you to your next appointment.  Wellness exams are a great learning opportunity as well!
  

• Puppy and Kitten Care-Do you have a new pet in your family?  This is an exciting time and a very important one as well.  Giving your new pet the best start possible is very important.  Schedule an appointment today to have this new family “member” examined and learn about vaccines, tests, and preventative measures that our health care team recommends.
  

• Parasite Testing and Prevention- Parasites can cause serious illness and even shorten the lifespan of your pet.  When you come in for an appointment, we will explain what we are testing for and what types of problems certain parasites pose; such as ticks that transmit Lyme disease, fleas that transmit tapeworms, heartworms, and various intestinal worms. Many of these infections could go unnoticed, that is why testing and prevention is paramount. 
  

• Nutritional Counseling- It goes without saying that nutrition plays a critical role in your pet’s overall health.  Just like you, your pet’s nutritional needs change over time.  For example, whether your pet is pregnant, aging, or has been diagnosed with a certain medical condition, diet plays a key role in maintaining optimal health. We offer a needs assessment and nutritional counseling that will suit your pet’s unique needs. 
  

• Microchips- Consider getting your beloved pet implanted with a microchip.  This could help to reconnect you with your pet in the event that he or she goes missing.  This safe, simple procedure is a more reliable means of identifying your pet than a collar with tags that could be removed.  Most animal shelters and veterinarians throughout the U.S. have electric scanners for reading these microchips.
